Family-centered early intervention: an opportunity for creative practice in speech-language pathology

This second article was interesting because it focuses on the family of the child. I found this to be important because the families of these children can benefit from reading this. The article explains the process of an IFSP and the role Speech Language Pathologists play from start to finish. I feel that after reading this, the families would no longer be confused. Also, the article stresses the fact that the plan focuses on the birth to three years of age population of children, implying how important it is to combat the disorder as soon as possible.

Guiding Principles and Clinical Applications for Speech-Language Pathology Practice in Early Intervention

This is an article that I found to be useful and interesting in regards to my topic because it was a case study that proved that the earlier speech intervention occurs the child's improvements are much greater. In the article they write about the four principles that act as the framework for intervention and stress the fact that these principles need to be implicated as soon as possible.
